The Time Machine Chapter 1

Meagan S.

Wouldn't it be cool to make a time machine the size of a clock? Honestly, you're crazy if you think differently. The Time Machine is a science fiction book by H.G Wells. I haven't gotten too far ahead, only the first couple chapters but I can tell this is going to be a good read. In the first chapter it mentions that one lever is to go into the future and the other lever is to go into the past. Which seems pretty cool. The story starts out which seems to be a world that still had gas lamps. When he goes back and forth in time, he tells people he is time traveling, and of course, people are making objections. Is it a good idea to tell everyone? Should he keep it a secret? One of the big things that the time traveler brings up is "we are always moving in time, so why not move faster?" and i believe that is what starts it all. That's what starts the story. It makes it suspenseful and wanting people to read more.
